A St. Paul woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend’s wife, who blamed the defendant for spreading venereal disease to the couple.

Twenty-two-year-old Whitney Tanee Kizart was initially charged with second-degree murder in the March attack. But prosecutors reduced the charge to second-degree manslaughter in Ramsey County District Court and Kizart pleaded guilty Thursday.

The criminal complaint said 26-year-old Jennifer Linnear was stabbed after she and her husband went to Kizart’s home to confront her about giving genital herpes to the man, and an argument ensued.

Sentencing is Aug. 13. The charge carries up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
