Name:Stephanie Hansen
Hometown: St. Paul, MN
Been with FM107 since: I first sat in with Julia about 3 years ago when Lori was sick and all their other regulars were unavailable. The first time we did a show together I was hooked! It was so fun.
What is your role at FM107?: On-Air Hostess from 1-3pm. You are all invited into my (studio) house.
What do you wish your role was at FM107?: Station owner would be good – is that too greedy?
Share a favorite FM107 moment: I think the best was when I was on with Julia one day. During a commercial break we were talking about something funny off air. When Julia went to turn the mic on and open the show she couldn’t talk because she was still laughing so hard. It was a solid 30 seconds of listening to us laugh with otherwise dead radio air. Laughing is always good.
Share some behind the scenes FM107 gossip: When Julia interviewed Dorothy Hamel on the “Lori and Julia Show” and the segment was over I looked over and Julia was crying because she admired her so much and enjoyed talking to someone who was an icon for her as a kid. “I love her” she squeaked.
List all of the "hats" you wear in your current life: Mom, wife, business owner, association president, girl friend, psycho, sister, dork, American Idol, therapist, running buddy.
Describe any past fashion fads that you at the time embraced but now regret: I am going to tell you about my hair but I DO NOT REGRET it. I was HOT and it was the late 80’s. I had a long, curly spiral permanent wave. It was so long it took two rollers piggybacked for each piece of hair. It was so BIG small guinea pigs could have made a home in it and have been perfectly hidden from view.
Name a television character past or present that best describes your personality: “I Love Lucy “ describes me but I would rather be like Samantha from “Sex In The City” for obvious reasons. People tell me I look like CJ from the “West Wing” not exactly smoking hot if you know what I mean.
What's your favorite comfort food?: My homemade macaroni and cheese or my husband’s creamy fettuccine.
If there was an FM107 reality show who would get kicked out of the house first?: Joan Steffand. There is entirely too much design pressure in the house with her around. Nobody wants someone to come over that is going to rearrange your chairs when you are not looking.
Do you believe in love at first sight?: Yes. I was in love with my husband when I first saw him. I had to ask him out 5 times (well, he was my boss) before he said he would go out with me.
First celebrity crush: Andy Gibb
Latest celebrity crush: George Clooney but he would have to tear me out of Brad Pitts arms to get to me.
Name another person on this earth you would love to trade places with for a day (and why): Warren Buffet. I think he seems like a great guy. He appears humble even though he is extremely rich and successful. I get the impression he has not forgotten who he is or where he came from. I admire that.
Name the last good movie you saw: “Blood Diamond” minus the love scenes with Leonardo and Jennifer Connelly. I am dying to see “America Gangster” with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
Name the last good book you read: I love the foodie memoirs. Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Ruth Reichel, Barbara Kingsolver, Anthony Bourdain, Bill Buford – I love them all.
What TV show(s) are you currently hooked on?: My guilty pleasures are “Keeping up with the Kardashians” “Kimora Lee Simmons, The Fabulous Life” “The Real Housewives of Orange County” “Dr. 90210” I still love "Rescue me” and "The Shield" on FX. Anything HBO, I loved “Big Love” “Rome” “Sopranos” “Tell Me You Love Me” “The Wire” . We watch the “Simpson’s" as a family (I know, not your average family show) and each season of Idol is very anticipated at our house.
