Alexis Walsko

Name: Joan Steffend

Hometown: Cambridge, MN

Been with FM107 since: As a listener/guest/fill-in host, almost the beginning. As an employee, since October 2007.

What is your role at FM107?: I’m the third optimistic voice on “Get Real Girls” on Saturday morning.

What do you wish your role was at FM107?: Thurston Howell III

Share a favorite FM107 moment: Well, since I’ve only been officially employed for about a week now, the options are limited. Still, it’s gotta be finding out that Liv and Colleen are every bit as real as I’d hoped – maybe more real than I’d hoped:). I love ‘em because they’re working joyfully on their lives – sometimes getting it right and sometimes not so much. They’re cheerleaders everyone should have on their team, because they don’t cheer from the mountaintop, they cheer alongside you.

Share some behind the scenes FM107 gossip: I’m not so good at the gossip, but I can tell you this: FM107 has the highest percentage of redheads on the air of any radio station I know of. Also, it has the highest percentage of Steffends. My daughters, Blair and Jordan both work here.

List all of the "hats" you wear in your current life: Mom, wife, daughter, aunt, dog lover, radio talker, TV host, spokesman, and explorer of all things invisible.

Describe any past fashion fads that you at the time embraced but now regret: There’s video of me in this fad that still makes me cringe: I was carrying some post-baby weight and decided that white pegged ankle jeans would be a great way to disguise that fact.…it wasn’t.

Name a television character past or present that best describes your personality: I am Deepak Chopra’s and Carol Burnett’s love child.

What's your favorite comfort food?: Anything deep fried, salted, and preferably with a chocolate chaser (oh, and it should be eaten on a sofa in front of a TV in sweat pants).

If there was an FM107 reality show who would get kicked out of the house first?:
Definitely me, because they’d get tired of me sitting around in my sweat pants, watching TV, and eating deep-fried, salty stuff (see above).

Do you believe in love at first sight?:
Yes, but not marriage at first sight.

First celebrity crush: Robert Redford in “The Way We were

Latest celebrity crush: Jon Stewart

Name another person on this earth you would love to trade places with for a day (and why): The Dalai Lama, to see the world from his perspective to see how it would change my perspective

Name the last good movie you saw: Hairspray and The Bourne Ultimatum (just to give you a little range :)

Name the last good book you read: Eat, Pray, Love

What TV show(s) are you currently hooked on?: The Daily Show, Talk Soup, Top Chef, Project Runway,  Ugly Betty,  Grey’s Anatomy, and Letterman
