Name: Christopher Gabriel
Hometown: Chicago
Been with FM107 since: Memorial Day, 2007
What is your role at FM107?: ?: I am the Assistant Director of Plant and Wildlife Growth.
What do you wish your role was at FM107?: I’d like to be the Director of Plant and Wildlife Growth.
Share a favorite FM107 moment: It was in the parking lot on September 20th, I’ll never forget it: Ian Punnett allowed me to look at his car. It was at that point I knew I had arrived.
Share some behind the scenes FM107 gossip:From 9 pm to midnight every Wednesday, the FM107 studio is home to Russian Satellite Radio Station CJP19’s show, Get Minsk Girls.
List all of the "hats" you wear in your current life: I wear a lot of hats, but the two that matter the most are Husband and Father.
Describe any past fashion fads that you at the time embraced but now regret: Platform shoes, linen pants and silk shirts back in the 70's. Throw in a large splash of Brut Cologne and let me tell you, that was the perfect recipe for now being ridiculed by my teenage nieces, my sisters-in-law...pretty much anyone who sees the pictures prominently displayed in my parents' home.
Name a television character past or present that best describes your personality: Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show
What's your favorite comfort food?: Sushi...no question about it.
If there was an FM107 reality show who would get kicked out of the house first?: Paul Black, absolutely no question. Paul is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my entire life. And yet......when you're around him for awhile, something slowly begins to unnerve you. And then it becomes clear: He has a dark, duplicitous, almost sinister side to him that is easily missed. But I've not missed it...oh yeah, I see it. I feel it. And I fear it. He would have to go down....immediately.
Do you believe in love at first sight?: I believe in 'WOW!!!! Something is really special about that person and I absolutely have to meet her' at first sight. 18 years later, I still feel that way about my wife.
First celebrity crush: Judy Jetson. She was hot, sassy, smart and funny. The fact she was a cartoon -- merely an obstacle. Quite frankly, I'm not sure I'm over her...
Latest celebrity crush: The whole notion of a crush is almost absurd to me at this point in my life...I barely have time to sleep, eat, change diapers and have tea parties much less have a crush. That said, if pushed into a corner, I'd have to go with Melina Kanakaredes from CSI: NY.
Name another person on this earth you would love to trade places with for a day (and why): Any actor from the Royal Shakespeare Company. Coming from a classical theatre background, it was always my dream to perform on the RSC stage in either London or Stratford-upon-Avon. There would be no greater thrill than walking out as, say, Henry V or Iago, and uttering those magnificent lines in those historic settings.
Name the last good movie you saw: The 2006 non-animated version of Charlotte's Web...beautifully done. It's a timeless story that resonated so much more for me as my wife and I watched it with our nearly-4 year old daughter.
Name the last good book you read: Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters: 10 Secrets Every Father Should Know, by Dr. Meg Meeker. Inspiring. You can always be a better dad and if you have daughters, this book will never be far from you once you read it.
What TV show(s) are you currently hooked on?: The vast majority of my free time is spent with my wife and daughters. However, I do love watching college football / basketball any time of day or night, especially when my Tennessee Volunteers are on, The Weather Channel, most anything on HGTV and...Jakers! The Adventures of Piggly Winks! If you're a parent of a child between 3 and 5 years old, this show is as good as it gets. And I'm here to tell you -- I LOVE the show!! It teaches children wonderful lessons, it never puts anyone in a bad light and it's extremely smart and funny.
